Flying a German ice hockey team to Latvia
In May 2021, we were asked to fly a German ice hockey team to Latvia for the IIHF World Championship.
The client had a limited budget but wanted a new aircraft to transport the group of 42 passengers and their three tonnes of luggage, so our experienced team sprung into action to find a cost-effective solution that could accommodate the requested payload.
Our Solution
Route: Nuremberg > Riga
Aircraft: Airbus A220-300
We kept costs down by sourcing an Airbus A220-300 from an operator based in Latvia, which was the right size for the requested payload and fitted the brief for a modern, clean aircraft. We encountered several logistical obstacles when finalising the charter, including airline delays and communication difficulties due to the language barrier. Our efficient brokers smoothly resolved every issue behind the scenes, leaving the client to focus on preparing for the tournament.
