Charter a helicopter to the Epsom Derby
Every year, Epsom Downs Racecourse holds Britain's richest flat horse race, the Epsom Derby. Whether you’ve got tickets for Ladies Day or Derby Day, elevate your travel experience by chartering a helicopter to the Air Charter Service Helipad at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
With over 30 years of experience and offices around the world, we can source the best helicopter for your requirements from hundreds of options. Our team is available 24/7 to take your call and create a bespoke helicopter charter that’s tailored to you.
Travelling to Epsom Downs by helicopter charter
Heavy traffic can make Epsom Downs Racecourse hard to reach by car on Ladies Day and Derby Day. Flying in by helicopter allows you to avoid the crowds and arrive in double-quick time, with a flight from Battersea to Epsom taking under 15 minutes. Wherever you’re based, we can arrange a helicopter to pick you up from a nearby airfield, heliport or accessible field.
The ACS Helipad sits at the centre of Epsom Downs racecourse, giving you quick and direct access to all the action. When you land, one of our team will be waiting to escort you to the helipad for refreshments. And after the day’s racing draws to a close, it’s a short walk back for your return helicopter journey to your chosen destination.

About the Epsom Derby
The 12th Earl of Derby and Jockey Club steward Sir Charles Bunbury launched the Epsom Derby in 1780, after tossing a coin to decide which of them to name it after. While the Earl won the title, Bunbury’s horse Diomed won the inaugural mile-long race.
Today, over 150,000 spectators attend the quintessentially British sporting event each year on the first weekend in June, kicking off with Ladies Day on the Friday followed by the main Epsom Derby on Derby Day.
Legendary winners include Sea Bird in 1965, 2016 champion Harzand, and Shergar, who won by the biggest-ever margin of 10 lengths in 1981 and was notoriously later kidnapped. Another famous moment came in 1913, when suffragette Emily Davison was killed after running onto the track in front of King George V’s horse.
